Job Description
Requirements
Years of Experience
• 12+ years of overall software engineering experience with progressively increasing responsibility
• 3+ years in an engineering management or team lead role managing a team of 5+ engineers
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in backend application development using Java, Spring Boot, or Spring Batch, or in database-driven enterprise platform engineering
• 2+ years of experience working with MDM, PIM, or data syndication platforms in a delivery or oversight capacity
Duties & Responsibilities
• Lead and develop a team of engineers across item management, content syndication, and product cost domains — providing coaching, code reviews, performance feedback, and career growth guidance.
• Own end-to-end delivery across the STIBO STEP MDM/PIM platform, content syndication pipelines, and product cost applications — managing sprint planning, backlog prioritization, and stakeholder commitments.
• Partner with architects and senior engineers to ensure sound technical decisions across database-heavy backend systems, event-driven integrations, and MDM platform workflows.
• Drive reliability and operational excellence across owned platforms by establishing SLAs, monitoring system health, and leading incident response and root cause resolution.
• Collaborate with Merchandising, Category Management, and Cost Analysis business teams to translate requirements into well-scoped engineering plans with clear timelines and delivery outcomes.
• Coordinate with US-based engineering leadership on roadmap priorities, cross-team dependencies, and resource planning to ensure aligned and predictable delivery.
• Remove blockers, manage risks, and maintain delivery momentum across concurrent workstreams — escalating appropriately and communicating status transparently to the Associate Director.
• Foster a culture of engineering quality by promoting CI/CD adoption, automated testing, code review standards, and continuous improvement practices across the team.
• Establish an AI-native development culture — ensuring the team leverages AI-assisted tools (GitHub Copilot, AI-driven testing, code analysis) as standard practice to amplify productivity and delivery quality.
