Position: BI DBA (SQLServer).

Reporting To: Business Intelligence and Analytics Lead.

The SQL Server DBA will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems, to ensure the availability and consistent performance of our corporate applications.
This is a “hands-on” position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and sustainment of the SQL Server environment, ensuring its operational readiness (security, health and performance), executing various tasks such as data modelling, data discovery, data load in support of multiple application support and development teams.
Must be capable of working independently and collaboratively.

Business/Industry Understanding: Shipping industry or similar domain and basic knowledge of (insert most relevant Shipping/Maritime transactional applications) is a plus.

Technical Skill Requirement:
Proven experience in structured approach to SQL Server data base design, implementation and maintenance
Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
Good knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory
Experience with SSRS / SSAS / SSIS engine setup, monitor and tuning is a plus
MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications are a plus
